ANGULO, Earl D.

Earl Dennis Angulo (Age 86)

Of Tampa passed away June 25, 2015. He was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to Tampa from Silver Spring, MD in 1992. Earl served in the U.S. Navy and was a Mechanical Engineer with NASA. He was a 1947 graduate of the University of Maryland and enjoyed following the “Terps”. Earl is preceded in death by wife, Janet and son Dennis. He is survived by son Steven; daughter Patty Weber; two grandchildren Justin Weber, and Alexandra Angulo. Services will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring, MD. Earl will be interred with his wife, Janet and son, Dennis in the family plot at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.

WALTER J. MURPHY, JR. (Age 84)

On Thursday, June 25, 2015, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Joan Welch Murphy; father of Kevin (Mary), Christopher, Brendan (Gail) and Colin (Traci) Murphy; grandfather of Delia, Owen, Patrick, Ian, Keira, Mallory, Brian and Finn; brother of the late Joan Murphy Kopf. Relatives and friends may call at Holy Cross Church, 4900 Strathmore Avenue, Garrett Park, MD, on Thursday, July 2, starting at 9:30 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Private. Memorial contributions may be made to Gonzaga College High School, 19 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. Born in New York City, Walter moved to Washington in 1943. He graduated from St. Michael’s Parish School in Silver Spring, and then attended Gonzaga High School where he captained the golf team. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1953. After completing law school at Georgetown University, Walter married Joan Welch of Chevy Chase, Maryland in 1958. They began married life in Bethesda and then moved to their home in Rockville, where they lived together for 48 years. Walter practiced law for over thirty years with his father-in-law, J. Harry Welch and life long friend, Jim Welch at the firm of Welch Murphy & Welch. Walter practiced with the law firm, Carr Goodson & Lee, before retiring in 1999. He had several hundred trials and scores of appellate cases over his long career, including some precedent-setting cases. Additionally, he served as the Alternate Chairman of the D.C. Mental Health Commission. Walter was honored by the D.C. Defense Lawyers as their Lawyer of the Year in 1990. He was a proud fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and of the International Society of Barristers. Locally, he was a member of the Barristers and the Counselors, serving as president of the Counselors in 1978-79. He is remembered by many younger lawyers as an extraordinary mentor. He was “a gentleman and a scholar”, devoted to his Catholic faith, and his family.

DONEGAN, Dorothy T.

Dorothy Theresa Donegan

Dorothy Theresa Donegan, age 94, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 24, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Fernandina Beach, FL. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the youngest of three children born to the late Joseph Francis DeLullo, Sr. and Anne Guinane DeLullo. In the mid 1940s while visiting the Chamberlain Hotel in New York, NY, she met a young Army Air Corps pilot, James J. Donegan Jr. They would marry on November 20, 1948 and make their home in Hampton, VA. Her husband began a long career in the Aerospace Industry with NASA that moved the Donegan’s to the Greenbelt, MD area. Mrs. Donegan remained at home raising their children and supporting their childhood activities. She volunteered in the sodality at their church and provided freshly ironed linens and other appointments for the altar. Her husband passed away in January of 1980. Mrs. Donegan leaves behind, their children, Kathleen “Kathy” Spicer and her husband, George of Catonsville, MD, James T. “Terry” Donegan and his wife, Mirza of Gaithersburg, MD, Gerald J. “Jerry” Donegan, also of Gaithersburg, MD, Deirdre Willette and her husband, Mark of Fernandina Beach, FL, her sister, Marie McDonald, Philadelphia, PA, six grandchildren, George Spicer, Laura, Spicer, James Spicer, Gabrielle Morris, Matt Willette, Dan Willette and five great grandchildren, Tucker, Reed, Grayson, Kadence and Logan. Her family will receive family and friends at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., W., Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 7 to 9 p.m. and at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Monsignor Essex, Celebrant. Mrs. Donegan will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. SANDRA THIEN TRANG TAN NGUYEN

On Tuesday, June 23, 2015 Sandra Nguyen of Mechanicsburg, PA and formerly of Rockville, MD passed away. She was the beloved wife of Clarence Bouchat; daughter of Charles Cuong Tan Nguyen and Maria Nam T. Chung, and is also survived by her siblings: Josephine Phung Nguyen, Phillipe Phuoc Tan Nguyen, Florence Thien Huong Tram, Caroline Thien Kim Tram, Albert Tuan Quoc Tram, Lisa Thien Thanh Nguyen Benedict, Charles Phu Tan Nguyen, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Her family were her dearest assets and loves. Sandra last worked for Wipro as a consultant at Ciena in Baltimore and the Cincinnati Water Works, and before that at the Hershey Company through System One. She also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Enterra Solutions, Science Applications International Corporation, and General Electric Global Exchange Services as an organizational change manager and lean six sigma black belt. She earned her M.S. from Johns Hopkins and B.S. from Towson State University. She was active in the Church and in charities to benefit her native Vietnam, travelling there several times. She loved the beach, playing volleyball, the outdoors, and her many friends before succumbing to cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Vietnam R.C. Church, 11814 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Friday, June 26, at 7 p.m. Interment Private.
